Much to John's chagrin, Jack loves to carry a purse around. It's not just any purse. It's a small, black, patent leather purse that he swings over his shoulder, puts his hand on his head (so the purse doesn't fall off said shoulder) and runs around screaming. John took him to the park this evening and a fit ensued when he tried to take the purse away from Jack.
I don't see the big deal. Babies like to push & pull & carry things. John is going to try to find a more manly bag for him. Meanwhile I think he's going to bury the patent leather purse in the trash.
(What I forgot to mention is that this afternoon he had the purse & a little pink baby stroller that he was pushing around outside in front of our house...I tried to get a photo of this, but wasn't fast enough.)

Man-purses are ALL the rage in Hong Kong. Seriously. I would blog about it if I were better at stealth photography. So tell that silly husband of yours that his son is just a trendsetter. This trend probably won't hit STL for another couple of years. And then Jack will be old enough to tell all his friends how he is so over purses, because they are "so 2007". Then John will be a proud papa indeed.
I'll have a talk with him.
Yours, Grayson
(in the voice of Tim Gunn) Make it work!
I think the us is one of the few places that men dont carry bags. Go for it Jack.
I am very uncomfortable with patent leather.
